Victories!
After losing 80 pounds, you think I would be excited- right? Well, don't get me wrong- I am excited, but when I do the calculations to figure out how much more I have to lose, and then estimate the time it will take for me to get there, I get discouraged. How the heck did I get to that high of a weight in the first place? Of course I know the answer to that, but I need to keep myself focused ahead to the future instead of looking back. Every time I see someone I haven't seen in a few months and they don't say anything, I worry that people can't tell a difference. Nevermind the fact that I know I started at nearly a size 34 and am now can fit into some 26's- the affirmation from other people is something I really get hung up on. To keep me from thinking about this, I've decided to post some victories, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem to others.
- I was at Target and went to the shoe section to find some cheap-but-cute flip flops to wear on the airplane, and I saw a cute pair of dress shoes. For people who don't know my issues with my feet- I have to wear 11 Wide which really limits my shoe selection, and when I do find cute shoes in that size, I have to pay an enormous amount of money for them. Well, I decided I would try on this pair of cute brown slingbacks that would look awesome with my new brown suit, and they fit!!! I was very excited to spend less than $80 on a pair of cute shoes that I didn't have to squeeze my feet into.
- My rolls didn't hang over the armrests of the airplane seats
- I can now wrap my hand around my entire wrist again- sounds weird- grasp your opposite wrist with your hand- and the middle finger and thumb touch. I know I'm a freak for thinking this is a victory, but my wrists are getting smaller
- I walk a lot faster when I'm at the grocery store. I used to move at snail pace because it would wear me out, but now I'm moving at normal speed
