Five Months and Seventy Pounds

I've been doing Atkins for a little over 5 months and have now lost over seventy pounds!!! WOOHOO!!! I can't believe how easy it has been for me! I know that some people ask me sometimes, "what do you do?" Honestly, I eat to the letter induction from the DANDR book. I feel extremely lucky to have lost so much in such a short amount of time, but I want people who question why they maybe aren't losing so fast to remember that I started with over 260 pounds to lose!!! I still weigh 374 pounds- still morbidly obese- still a loooonnng way to go. But, I am thankful to Dr. Atkins and Low Carb Friends- the combination of these 2 things has made me a low carb machine! OK, not really- I have slip ups sometimes and days where I am sooo sick of meat I could puke- but you get the metaphor. Thanks for everyone's encouragement!!!! It keeps me accountable and motivated! :)

Three cheers for the scale!

So earlier today I thought that I was down 4.2 pounds this week- awesome, right? But that is net loss including the previous week. So technically this week I lost 6.2 pounds! I'm almost to the 70 pound club- yipee! It pays for me to be strict on my eating. I feel like I have Wendy's to thank this week. I must have eaten something from there every day. I've been alternating between their Chicken BLT salad with Ranch, their Classic Triple with cheese (no ketchup, no bun), and the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger (no bun, of course). I'm glad to see that caffeine hasn't stalled me either- I've had Starbucks four times this week.
Going to a cookout later today and I'm taking Jalapeno Poppers with me. YUM. They take a while to prep, and only a minute to devour. There will be lots of smoked meats at this cookout, which is like LC heaven for me.
Better jump off here and give my dad a ring for Father's Day.

Business trips=bad for my weight

I went on a business trip this past week with some co-workers. It was in Atlanta. I pretty much had to eat what was paid for, so I did. I also drank- a lot. So, to pay for these sins, I had gained like 7 pounds by the time I got back. The past 2 days I've done strict induction and am down to being only 2 pounds over my weight when I left. I think that the week of "regular" eating was good for me though. I realized how I'm not really missing much by not eating those carby foods. Even bagels and stuff just aren't appealing to me anymore- they aren't filling, and they make me sleepy.

Here are a couple of pictures from the trip. 1 at a Braves game, 1 with me (far right) and 2 of my coworkers.
